(German Cucumber Salad)

Peel and slice 6 cucumbers to just under 1/8 of an inch thick.

Add 1 heaping TB of salt. Mix well to distribute the salt throughout the slices.

After ½ hour, pour the cucumber slices into a colander and rinse the salt from the slices with cold water until most of the salt is gone, let drain.

In separate bowl, add 5 TB vinegar and 4 TB sugar, mix well.

Add the drained cucumber slices and mix well. Taste-if too sweet, add vinegar, if too sour, add sugar, until it tastes right to you.
